Planning for the 2011 festival
We've barely had a chance to take a breath from this year's Chisholm Trail Festival and, believe it or not, it's time to start thinking ahead to 2011.
The board's annual meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug 3 at 7:00pm at the Newton Activity Center (aka Rec Center), 415 N. Poplar, Newton. Anyone interested in joining the board, or even just providing input, is invited to attend. We welcome everyone!
Rain location
Due to forcasts of continued bad weather, the festival is moving indoors. Sunday events will now be held at the 4H livestock building, right at the corner of First and Grandview. It isn't pretty, but it's dry! Everything will be very fluid as we make adjustments, so please come early for events and have patience as we figure it all out today. And don't forget to bring a chair. See you at the festival!

Tonight is the street dance downtown
With lots of activities, including a clown.
We invite you all down to have a good time
You'll be able to find us, it's a good sign.
At first glance the clues may not make much sense
But that is all part of the hider's defense.

Cattle and railroad gave Newton its start
But in this hunt, they won't play a big part.
Finding the cow chip could be an art
The answer certainly can't be found on a chart.
Or finding it may take lots of work
Two hundred fifty dollars will be a nice perk.
