All Talent Competition Rules

• Competition will be held Friday, July 2, 7:00p, at the Newton Rec Center, 415 N. Poplar.  Contestants must check in by 6:00pm. The competition will be concluded in one evening
• All types of talent are welcome, however we cannot accommodate bands. Musical instruments are allowed, but you WILL NOT be allowed to plug any instruments in, so MAKE SURE IT’S ACOUSTIC or is portable and has a self-contained amplifier.
• This is a family show, we cannot allow acts that are potentially dangerous or not “family friendly” (e.g. knife juggling, sharp objects, fire throwing, comedian’s blue material).
• Entry Fee for competition is a 2010 Chisholm Trail Festival Button. Button must be presented when checking in and worn during performance unless costume or act prevents wearing a button. Permission to not wear a button must be granted by a CTF official.  Buttons will also be available for purchase onsite.
• Participants using background music must provide music in CD form. Limit one song per act. All acts are limited to 3 ½ minutes start to finish, including set up.
• Contestants can only participate in one act. All contestants under 18 years old must have parental/guardian signature to participate. Signature of parent/guardian must be signed when turning in the registration form. If you don't have your FORM signed before July 2, you will not be put in the line up.
• Performance order will be alphabetically by contestant’s last name or by group name.

• All participants must pre-register by Monday, June 28, 2010. Only 25 entries available.  Chisholm Trail Festival reserves the right to choose, disqualify, or bar performers for any reason. Registration forms should be mailed to:

• Age divisions are 5 through 12, and 13 through adult. Parent/child acts will be categorized based on which individual is doing the majority of the performance. All performers must register and minors must have a guardian signature. Guardians must supervise their minors throughout the Newton’s got Talent event.
• All group acts (acts with multiple performers) must have a designated adult to serve as the group leader. The group leader will be responsible for being with the group the entire time the act is waiting to perform. The group leader must be indicated on the sign up form. All performers of the group must fill out the registration form and sign the waiver.
• The talent competition is about having fun. Good sportsmanship behavior is expected of all contestants while watching other performances. Any contestants that displays poor behavior runs the risk if being disqualified.
• The top two places in each age division will receive prizes as follows:
  • 1st Place Trophy and $50 Newton Bucks
